Dogs and Politics

My mug would look really great on his mailer.

My mug would look really great on his mailer.

Our local elections take place on November 2 and voting is human only. However I was really impressed to learn that Martin Chavez, the Independent candidate for New Mexico, sent mail to reporter Gwyenth Doland’s Boston Terrier (To read the entire article click here). I personally admire Chavez appeal to dog and pet lovers alike. I think sometimes we (pets) get the raw end of the stick… no pun intended. My own Mayor has not sent me any mail regarding his reelection. Still he has participated in Humane League fundraisers and so he must be a little bit of OK in my book. Still I haven’t sat down and had a heart to heart with him or gotten a mailer discussing issues important to me. So you win some you loose some. Nonetheless, I have been considering persuading my ‘rents to move to Albuquerque. The article does state that Dog Fancy Magazine has named it one of the top American Cities for Dogs.

Boston Terrier Gets Acupuncture

5 09 2009

I am pretty tough. I had some pretty major surgeries as a puppy due to my anal prolapse. I am probably one of the few dogs in the world that doesn’t really mind going to the vet. I recently read a post on the Four Paws Acupuncture Blog about a Boston Terrier getting acupuncture for allergies. I think I could probably go through a little acupuncture myself.  The post says the Boston Terrier Gladys receiving the treatment was very still for the entire treatment and eventually fell asleep. I will say the look on Gladys’ face seems to say, “What are you doing to me!?!?” In any case I wish Gladys the best of luck with her allergy treatment. I hope she feels better because allergies stink.
