The Twelve Canine Capers of Christmas (NEBTR)

25 12 2009

I wanted to repost this cute little story posted on the North East Boston Terrier Rescue Blog. The Twelve Canine Capers of Christmas is told by a naughty dog. For additional Christmas cheer, check out last year’s photo shoot I had with Santa.

Merry Christmas!!

Boston Terrier Christmas Cards

Holiday cards featuring Vegas

The Cutest Boston Terrier Holiday Cards

The holidays are here and I thought I would feature the 12 free Christmas Cardsmy mom got from Shutterfly. I wouldn’t really say they are Christmas cards since my mom choose the “Peace on Earth” sentiment and prefers to wish everyone happy holidays. I got top billing on the front of the card. The rest of my furry family is pictured on the left inside flap of the card. I think they turned out pretty good. My mom has never ordered anything from Shutterfly or Snapfish. These free cards were a nice treat, since they can be pretty expensive. Later we redeemed another free offer for 3 additional cards and she created another card design with just me. Those cards say, “be merry.” Since there is a limited quantity these are VIP holiday cards. There is going to be an intense selection process for these cards.

We will assess qualities like:

  • Do you appreciate greeting cards?
  • How much will you appreciate this card? Is it something that will get tossed or kept?
  • Do you find me absolutely adorable?

It would be really great if I could be featured on our holiday cards every year. I might try to persuade my mom to get more next year?

Happy Holidays!

Trick-or-Treat!

Vegas in Halloween Costume with Pumpkin

Never turn your back on a pumpkin

Yesterday was trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. It was my first Halloween ever and I got to wear my squirrel costume. The squirrels bring me all kinds of presents in my backyard, like one time I got a fresh piece of blueberry bagel. So I thought being a squirrel would be pretty nifty. We gave out a lot of candy to the kiddies and they liked my costume as much as I liked theirs.

The highlight of the night, was meeting a Dachshund puppy. The low point of the night was a tie, between being bopped in the face with a foam light saber as a uncoordinated kiddie tried to pet me and Mom making me pose in my costume next to our pumpkin. As you can tell from the photo… I don’t trust pumpkins. Overall, I would say Halloween was a success. I guess I should start planning my costume for next year.

G-Ma’s (Grandma’s) Birthday Card Fiasco

Nothing says Happy Birthday like a Boston Terrier

My G-Ma had her birthday a few weeks ago. She got a few cards from friends and family wishing her well on her birthday. Undoubtedly the influence I hold over the people around me is strong, like Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander (Mom and Dad have been watching Legend of the Seeker Season 1). Anyway, my G-Ma got not just 1 but 2 birthday card featuring a Boston Terrier. While it’s pretty nifty to think that two people thought a Boston Terrier would be great on her birthday card, it’s even better when they get the same card! So there you have it..two identical cards featuring Boston Terriers for G-Ma’s birthday. On a side note it doesn’t beat my the card my Mom got my Dad for his birthday a while back. She cut my head out from a picture and pasted it on a card that snorts like a pig.

Missed the Boston Terrier Meetup Halloween Party

10 10 2009

My mom stinks. She totally forgot that the Boston Terrier Meetup Halloween Party was this morning and ended up sleeping in. I am really mad I missed it. The agenda for the party was play with my Boston friends, costume parade and bobbing for hot dogs. The only consolation is that I will be able to wear my costume when we give out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I am posting a picture of my Halloween costume so that everyone can see how cute I would have looked.

So anyway, I hope that stanky Mom of mine figures out some way to make it up to me. I gave her an earful about my disappointment for not going to the party. I am posting a video to show you what it was like, even though this video was taken on a different day. You will get the idea.

Labor Day Weekend Fun

9 09 2009

So I spent the weekend at my Great Grandparents house. Its been about a month since I’ve seen them and so it was nice taking the time to visit. They have a lot of places for me to run around and sniff. I also had my my first swimming lesson in my Great Grandma’s pool. The water was a bit chilly. The temperature on the thermometer said 70 degrees. Here are a few pictures of my great weekend.

Yesterday I turned 1 years old and I never saw it coming. My mom threw me this great little party. I pretty much spent most of the afternoon napping. Then I went with my mom to the store to get all my party supplies. It was a pretty good birthday. I can’t wait to turn 2!

The Birthday events are as follows:

  • Ice Cream Cake for Mom, Dad and Grandma accompanied by singing
  • My own special birthday cookies from the petstore
  • Open Gifts (I got toys and my Grandma is paying for me to go to school again since I did so well the first time)
  • Play with gifts
  • Give kisses
  • Presents!

    Presents!

Mom swears she took it out 30 minutes before eating.

July 4th in the Mountains

Check me out at the top of Jack's Mountain

Check me out at the top of Jack's Mountain

My fourth of July was spent hanging out with family and friends at the mountains. I spent a lot of time playing with my good pal Zeke. Mom, Dad and I broke away from the group to do some sight seeing. We went to the top of Jack’s Mountain to enjoy the view. It is also a first for me, this was the first time I have been on the top of a mountain.

We took our group photo today and then headed home. While I had a blast while I was away, it was great to finally be home and relax in my own comfy bed.

Happy Easter

Taking a Moment to Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Taking a Moment to Enjoy the Great Outdoors

I spent a long weekend at visiting my great-grandparents. I didn’t really like being some where new, at first. It’s also no secret that Great-grandparents can be scary, they pinch your cheeks and talk to you funny. However mine are pretty great (no pun intended). They were really happy to have me around even though I took a poop or two in the house. My favorite part of Easter was hanging out in their yard. It’s probably a million times bigger than my backyard, with a billion sticks for me to play with.

I spent some time getting acquainted with the family and I also met my great-grandnan’s neighbor and friend Jane. She liked me a lot and that’s the way I like it. She invited me down to her house Sunday evening for crumpets and tea. OK, that last part was a lie but it sounded nice.

Saint Nick

I was so star struck we really didn’t discuss gifts.

I was so star struck we really didn’t discuss gifts.

Before you start sending letters to Santa about animal cruelty I would just like to take a minute to explain this picture. First off, Santa IS NOT strangling me. If anything you should be the ASPCS (The American Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Santa) on me! However, I would like to explain the situation from the beginning.

I was waiting in line patiently to see Santa. Eventually it was my turn and my Mom handed me off to Santa so we could take a picture. I think Santa sprinkled me with some magic Santa Loving Dust because I just wanted to give him kisses and chew on his beard. I also chewed on his Santa suit. My parents were trying to get my attention but let’s be real here they are nothing compared to Santa! So Santa let me chew on his finger so my parents could get a forward facing picture of me and Santa together.

My parents told me if I chewed on Santa he wouldn’t bring me gifts. They don’t realize that isn’t how Santa rolls. They actually were apologizing to Santa for my behavior! Then Santa said he used to have a Boston Terrier when he was a kid. He said Boston Terriers are great dogs! Can you believe it I have the Santa Seal of Approval?
