I didn’t take Vegas to the vet but I am pretty sure that they are black fly bites. She gets them every summer and they just go away after a few days. Plus I think I have seen the black flies in our yard. At first I thought it was ring worm because I only saw one that was ring shaped then I saw the fully red marks. They start to heal from the center out I believe.

Hi,
Did you ever get this confirmed it was not something else? We took our Boston hiking yesterday and there are several red ring shaped lesions on his underside and behind.

Congrats on adopting your new puppy. I have seen some of the negative posts about A1 K9 Rescue and I think there are just a lot of people making judgments about the rescue without actually visiting the rescue. My experience was not negative and I am sure that not all rescues would have invested the money to save Vegas. I have met other people who have adopted from A1 K9 Rescue through Vegas’ blog and I asked them to add their thoughts on A1 K9 Rescue because I thought it would be helpful to those concerned about the negative comments on the web. Feel free to add yours when you have made the trip to adopt your furbaby.

I was so happy to find this site. My husband and I are making the 36 hour round trip drive from Florida to adopt a puppy from them this weekend. I live and breath anti puppy mill and my biggest nightmare would be to purchase a dog from a broker posing as a rescue. There are so many negative things about them on the internet from people saying they are not a legitimate rescue, but not a single post is from someone that has actually been there. I called their vet today and they verified that they are a rescue and now I find this from people who actually adopted. I feel much better now!
